a moult patch appears at the back of the abdomen, above the spinnarets and appears like a jewish cap.
New tarantula tend to take a little time to adjust to their new surrounding and tend to hide away. It will probably show itself more at night but gradually you'll see more of it. These are excellent display species, definitely my favourite after GBB and fairly hardy. You might wish to provide a good hide for it, a plant pot or some cork bark.
