Default questions re my new A geniculata

hi i got a new white knee last sat i have put it in a large faunarium on spider life substrate with a small heat mat attached to the side water dish and flower pot hide is this all ok as it has dug a small dip behind the pot next to the mat and i have not seen it i have tryed feeding a few time but its not interested not sure when it was last fed.do also the black patch they get before a moult is this on the front or the back of the abdoman.

a moult patch appears at the back of the abdomen, above the spinnarets and appears like a jewish cap.

New tarantula tend to take a little time to adjust to their new surrounding and tend to hide away. It will probably show itself more at night but gradually you'll see more of it. These are excellent display species, definitely my favourite after GBB and fairly hardy. You might wish to provide a good hide for it, a plant pot or some cork bark.

thanks for your reply.i'v been waiting for a couple of my small ts to moult and keep checking for sighn my brazilian black has stoped eating as has my northern gold so was hopeing for a moult.
glad to no my geniculata is just settling in its a stroppy thing lol but i read that it was a good display t so wondered why it had hide its self away.its also a firm favorite of mine right behind my little a versi.
