Question Are Brachypelma's infact Euathlus'......???

I was just reading away there in one of my Tarantula books and came across a section that I found really interesting, Its where the author (Stanley A. Schultz - The Tarantula Keepers Guide) explains how some guy (Raven 1985) reviewed the genus Brachypelma (Simon 1891) and had came to the conclusion after studying many different species sent to him from various different museums that they were not in fact Brachypelma but Euathlus (Ausserer 1875) on publications of his findings the official names where then actually swapped around.

But apparently since this official renaming of the two genus' it has in fact been noted that the specimens that he studied were labeled incorrectly and he was therefore actually wrong.

I was wondering as the book doesn't go into more detail on the matter if these changes that were incorrectly made then reversed or are our Brachypelma's actually Euathlus' or vice versa, confusing, but non the less interesting....

Regards, Chris

I really wouldn't be surprised actually. Besides, all the Mexican species all intermingle anyway don't they?

Brachypelma
.B.: removed from the synonymy of Euathlus Ausserer, 1875 by Schmidt, 1992a: 10; considered a senior synonym of Brachypelmides Schmidt & Krause, 1994b: 7, type Brachypelmides klaasi Schmidt & Krause, 1994 by Smith, 1995: 159; Schmidt (1997d, 1998f) did not accept that synonymy, but failed to present evidence that the species he would place in Brachypelmides represent the sister group of the remaining species of Brachypelma (or of some other group entirely).

Euathlus
N.B.: considered a senior synonym of Brachypelma Simon, 1891 by Raven, 1985a: 150; Schmidt (1991b: 12) removed that name from synonymy; that resurrection was subsequently rejected by Smith (1991: 19) but was justified by Schmidt, 1992a: 10; considered a senior synonym of Phrixotrichus Simon, 1889 by Schmidt, 1996a: 14 (contra Pérez-Miles et al., 1996: 54, who considered Phrixotrichus a senior synonym of Grammostola Simon, 1892) and of Ashantia Strand, 1908 by Gallon, 2005d: 199 (contra Raven, 1985: 112).
