You can pick one up for about £15 I think. They are DWA though so you will need a licence for one.

They are. They are also tiny and VERY secretive, if you're after a DWA scorp I would go for the fat tailed or the fat yellowtail, as they are bigger and nicer IMO. I've been thinking of getting a fat yellowtail for a while now.

All I know is that they are like a pet hole and you need a DWA liscence for a hole, so not worth it IMO. I like desert hairy's, a nice change from the dark browns and is purdy.

they are secrative shy, and not agressive unless annoyed. You leave them alone and they wont run at you like some species, and are not keen on stinging unless they are cornered or touched.

handle with tongs.

Strong neurotoxins in the venom, some of which are being tested, and seem promising as a cure to cancer, and diabetes. 97% of stings result in local swelling, and 3% result worse effects, and genrally death (or near death) a further 8 % of the local efects will evoke a anaphlactic shock.

Keep dry and warm, feed crickets.

Anitvenin is avalable (twyford north african scorpion antivenin) and a stock is kept at the london poisons unit , (12 vials) there is also an amount kept in liverpool school of tropical medison (8 vials).

Treat with respect and input protocals then they are fairly safe to work with.
