Default heating spiderlings

I usually use heatmats but would it be possible to use a red bulb and stat to keep the temperature right, I know people say you shouldn't use bulbs but I'm not sure infra red will have the same effect.. Any help is appreciated

Thanks
James

Ray Gabriel used to heat most of his Ts with a low wattage bulb. Obviously you need to get accurate readings on temps.

So as long as the temps are ok then its fine to use them? Obviously they would have a stat to control the temp

Can't see it being a problem. Might be better for things like breeding Avics as apparently they like to hold their egg-sacs up to the sun to warm them.

You might even get spiders coming out to bask.

Only problem you might encounter is the enclosures drying out faster from the bulb than mat, keep an eye on that an there isn't a problem usin a bulb.
