Talk about scaremongering! As has already been mentioned so far there is no proof that the snake is carrying salmonella, or that the baby caught it from the snake, so the headline is wrong! But it's attention grabbing isn't it???
The woman says the family carried out research on keeping reptiles beforehand. Am I the only sceptical one here! Yes, the child should be told to wash his hands after touching the snake, but like grannykins I'm more worried that a 9 year old boy is allowed to handle his snake without a parent present!!
