Angry vet charges. this is for everyone.

my partner found this on the number ten site. IT WILL EFFECT US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!.
Please click on this link and sign the petition to stop vets charging extra cash ( aprox £15 ) to write out a prescription for your pet on top of the cost of the medication. Thanks Ann-Marie please pass this on to everyone you know. Petition to: Maintain the ban on Vets charging for prescriptions.
THIS IS NO JOKE. TAKE ACTION NOW. BAZZA.

I signed it, i dont use my vets much (touch wood, dont want to jinx myself) but i know they can be expensive especially if you're treating long term problems so anything that keeps the cost down is good

Signed My vets bills are quite reasonable at £20 per consultation (regardless of how many animals I take), but prescriptions of £15 would not be nice!

Its not to charge money on top of your medications, its for the clients who ask for written prescriptions to get the drugs elsewhere.
There will already be a dispensing fee on the medication you get from your vet.

Vets will charge for whatever they can get away with. I once had an itemised bill that included £5.50 for disposal of used needles and syringes (I was administering a 10 injection course of anti-biotics). When I'd asked the vet what to do with the needles once I'd finished with them, however, he said just throw them away. So basically they wanted to charge me £5.50 for me to throw them away!

Needless to say the bill was pretty quickly re-calculated once I'd questioned them on it...but how many people either wouldn't look at an itemised bill or just wouldn't query it?
