Default Complaint to local reptile/pet shop.

Hi,when I called in to local shop yesterday I noticed some leos that looked very small,so I asked an assistant if I could see them, there where about 10 in a small enclosure, some of them where very thin and had tails like matchsticks.I asked the assistant who was in charge of looking after the reps and she told me all the staff did,I asked to see the manager but was told he was out at the warehouse,so I explained to the assistant about some of the leos being very thin and that their tails should be fat and the fact that the tails where so thin was probably because they where using up their fat reserve, she said that they ate alot inc crickets and meal worms,I told her that the bigger stronger ones where probably eating most of the food, they had another viv empty so I asked could they be split up,she agreed and we cleaned out the spare viv and split them up,I asked when they got fed and she said first thing in the mourning so I asked could they be fed just before they when home as they would waking up later and it would be more peaceful then, she agreed, she asked for my phone number, later in the day the manager rang and said thank you,I told him I was glad to help and that the advice I gave was only my own opinion,I think this was quite a good result and no unpleasentness involved. Thanks to the thread rep shops gone bad.Lastly I also blame howerver sold him the leos in the first place,I have some leos hatched around the end of april that where larger and alot heavier than those in the shop and am not letting them go yet,I think that they where not in very good condition to start with as the shop had not had them long, when I asked the manager at what age they took leos he said anytime as long as they where eating.Sorry for such a long thread but hope maybe it will get other people to have a go at improveing things.

Well done.
It makes a change to read a positive post.
Well done to the shop also for responding as they did.

What a nice post to read. Hopefully it might encourage others to mention things they have concerns about while actually in shops in future instead of just posting on here what they've seen.

Well done you.

i reckon you should name the shop.. this shop obviously cares about its reputation and is making mvoes to become a successful and honest shop, so instead of the usual naming and shaming... it would be nice to hear of a recommendation of a shop. they now know where they went wrong thanks to you.. makes you wonder what would have happened a few weeks down the line if you didnt make it apparent what it was doing to them, glad to hear a happy ending though

Well done you!!
