2 Day Road Trip

So yesterday we went to doncaster up bright and early ready for a long day in the heat, took us about 2hr 20min to get there. We spent about 40mins in the show itself, some stunning leos, I was a little dissapointed i couldnt find any crestied but uncolourful males (which im glad i never got reading a few threads from people who bought off that table/seller). We got a tangarine houndran milk snake. Then we went to Aquatica in wakefield as recommened by GothGirl

we found the right road and couldnt find the shop so we asked some locals and they had no clue, while looking on our phones for a phone number a guy knocks on the car window pointing it out. Nice shop, good variety of animals, although nothing we wanted, I loved their lemon burmese python! Then off to Snake n' Adders in Leeds, again great shop but nothing we really wanted, their pet rhino iggy was a little scary looking

after all the heat and traveling we cut the day short missing out a few places we would have liked to visited.

This morning we called up 4 or 5 rep shops around us after some cresties and found one who said they had some babys in, when we asked for colours/morphs the guy said "I dont know they are selling too quick" bit strange if you ask me as they are in his store! So we made the 130 mile round trip to this shop and struggled to find the place, not what we expected a shop to look like. When we got there the girl wasnt exactly the most helpful, I asked her to get a few out as they were hiding and in a viv on floor level, I had my eye on a pair and when I asked about the two she said the owner wouldnt let me have two incase they both turned out to be male or one male one female and the fact they could breed too early, now I know shes only looking out for the animals but we explained we have a female and are breeding her at the moment and have experience and would split them if either of those scenarios were the case, but she said she would have to ask the guy. She then asked about the setup waiting and said id need a heatmat to keep them at at least 28C which is a little high for cresties in our experience and whats usually recomened, I told her about the monitor ive been doing on the temps over the past few weeks to make sure they would be suitable, after all im not gonna drive 65miles and spent £60 a piece on animals i dont plan to care for correctly! She boxed the one I had chosen and I asked her once again to ask the owner about having a second crestie but she proceded to ignore my comment so we left with just one. Not impressed with the way she was with us, dont think ill recommend this well known shop to anybody in a hurry.

So we went to our good old local Ravin Reptiles and came out with another stunner thanks to someone not returning to purchase it

So all in all a good day but a little pissed at a certain shop, but hey its my birthday so im gonna enjoy what I have left of it

wow I certainly would of liked to do that for my birthday,
funny about the cresties though
