Default HAMM .... info wanted

Well i'm gutted we couldnt make it this year .... but :
we fancy going to the next show/exhibition/meet whatever it is.
A few questions ....... where is HAMM? (Germany?)
How good are the prices of livestock compared to the UK?
Are there any limits as to what you can bring back?
Are there any other european venues/meets/shows which are as highly regarded as Hamm?

north germany it is, 300 miles from calais.
prices in general will be cheaper as distribution is easier, we're on an island so the prices are higher usually.
i dont know the limits, but i havent been stopped and i bought back 110 or so this year, despite 60-65 of them not being mine.
houten is ment to be good, but hamm is generally ragarded as the biggest show in the world... some at daytona may dispute that, there probably isntmuch in it.

I really wanted to go, but ive got so many deadlines due this and last week there's no way i could have made it. long way to go and not find what you want anyway...

Nige, do you find its mainly snakes or is there a good range? I'm specifically looking for a nice breeding pair of Crested Geckos, but the only other show i've been to (Essex in july) was mainly snakes and Beardies, there were few geckos there but not many to make it worth travelling a long way

Thats one hell of a drive from Calais 7-8 hrs?????
Houten? wheres that?
reason i ask about limits is my B.I.Law had to get a licence for importing, so wondered if same for hobbiests so to speak.
mind you he has a shop so probably a trading 'thing'.
Daytona USA? now that is a day trip and a half!!

well i had to get 4 hours before that too lol..
500 each way, although this time i did 998 thanks to sat nav lol
i guess hobbyists dont bring in as much as shops.
i bought in a lot, but a lot of it is other peoples, and also i have 3 grand worth that baz ordered and i paid for to get rid of.. as well as about 20 or so for people that asked for the odd snake or pair, so i guess all in all i am looking at 50 for myself.. thats pretty much me done now, i'll try and produce what i want from this lot, although i will go to hamm still.

I'd dont even want to imagine how you're housing all those at the mo!

As Nigel said prices are up and down depending on breeders.
Saw 2006 male blood pythons, bad quality at that, for around 200 quid, managed to get a 2005 female for 150 quid, allright I did knock them down a fair bit though
Basically if you start low you can get bargains, my white lip pythons for example.
Just play the game and alot will take the bait fairly easily.
