Default Breeders meetings

I'm not after an arguement ~ I've been looking into the advertising side of things for breeders meetings and it appears to me that the organisers of these meetings have quite strict guidlines on the advertisement they can do, for a start they can only advertise in reptile related areas. They cannot (as far as I understand it) advertise say in the local papers, on public notice boards or drop flyers through doors. They can advertise on reptile forums, reptile clubs, reptile shops and through word of mouth.
So the most powerfull way of advertising I can see amongst those is word of mouth, so we all need to do more than just talk on here about the breeders meetings, we need to actively advertise to friends , family and aquaintences. Otherwise in a few years time there will be no breeders meetings as the organisers will get fed up with putting in a lot of work to organise and run them without getting the hobbyists supportor help, please give a thought for the organisers of all the breeders meetings that are held in the U.K. (and no I am not one of those people).

Please remember the organisers dont get paid to do this!

Ok, I've finished, Sorry I just had to get that off my chest

Unfortunatley I was at work
But otherwise I would have been there, I do usually go to as many as possible if I can rearrange my work commitments.
Although I was unable to go I did manage to get some friends to pop along have have a wander round.
(I was there last year).
I just feel so 'sorry' 'upset' not sure which word to use 'frustrated?' for the voluntary organisers of these events, that dont get the support they need to succeed.

Hi all,

It's the same as most things they will be missed when they are gone, then it's to late.

just a bit of info.
im friends with the organiser of the 3 main i.h.s shows.for the ware show we set off on sat afternoon and drive for 3 hours, arrive at the hall and lay out the tables and check everything is working and correct, then its off to a b&b.
up again in the morning to the venue and double check everything before the table holders arrive to sign in,then at the end of the show we clear all the tables pack them down make sure the place is as we found it,then off home for another 3 hour drive.
so for me its a weekend spent away from the family which i,m not kean on,granted i always have tables at the show so it is a bit different for me.
but there is also the organising to do before hand.venues, bookings, travel, parking, contacting, pla nning and ringing round before the show to finalise it all.it does add up.
september at the dome is gonna take up alot of time for the organisers
