Default BBC1:Lost Land Of The Jaguar

In a tv guide it had a pic of my frog and it was in regard to the review of the program it had one in the index and one on the actual review and I've watch both parts 1 and 2 and can only hope it's talked about in part 3, why would they use the photo if they aren't talking about it.

Any one else watched this and seen a green frog that has crazy long legs called a waxy monkey tree frog?

Part 2s still on iPlayer

Anyone else a bit disappointed with this series?

I did something a *bit* sad and I actually timed how much animal and plantlife was actually 'properly' shown on the programme, last wednesday there was only about 14 minutes!

To me, this programme is more about the people than 'lost land of the jaguar'. I have no problem with a supplemental programme showing how they filmed it and everything (like the bits after life in cold blood). But to be honest if I wanted to watch mountaineering I would pick a program on it, not one that is meant to be showing me what I am interested in - the actual place and it's wildlife. I shan't be watching next week.

Attenborough rules!

PS - I think there was a waxy very, very briefly in shot on someones hand in the 'lab'. With the risk of the chytrid fungus would this be a good idea??

thats kind of how I'm feeling, I was saying to my girlfriend they could loose the 'suspence' music, cos it's crap. prob is the close up shots are good but ramdom filming through the leaves is rubbish,
'here is a monkey,,, a little one,,, look in front of the tree on the left see the dark green,,one now go up a bit and then past the big leaves and maybe we'll see a monkey that would fit in a pint glass,,,oh it's moved,,,better luck next time'

the show could be a one 1 hour long all animals like you said then next week how they filmed it.

this series is fantastic. its not only about the wildlife, but collection methods, sampling and taxonomy methods etc. its not meant to be like one of attenborough's documentaries

check out the thread on it in the off topic section

i know 2 of the people on the series, i can guaruntee that the risk of chytrid fungus has been thought of. in fact i seem to remember that research into that was one of the other issues they were looking into

why have they got shots of these animals but don't talk about them, why fill it up with setting up cameras to have cctv on the animals why don't they just say as voice over we spotted these wrens earlier and set up a cam not to disrupt. show one cam being set up for old people who don't know what it looks like or what its doing, but we/I want to see animals you don't normal get on tv, I can't afford 1550 on a holiday and will never visit there. there just seems to be lots of fill/2nd cam shots

I spotted Phyllomedusa in the background on both programmes it was on a desk in the first one and in someones hand in the second one.

because the idea is its a documentary on the research and methods - not the animals they are finding
