Default Captive Farmed? How do you Farm Retiles? CF

When searching for reptiles on the internet I see WC (Wild Caught) CB (Captive Bred) and CF (Captive Farmed)

How do they farm reptiles? Surely without the neccecary requirements the reps wont breed anyway. Im' guessing breeding on a huge scale and not good condition animals. (poorly treated)

I know it is not the same as farming agricultural animals but I guess as an example Pygmy Chameleons are captive farmed in france, how would they do this?

captive farming is taking pregnant WC females and the young that are born would be CF

It can also be just fencing off land and allowing the reptiles to do what they would do in the wild, but as they are on someone's property, it is considered a "farm", and not "the wild".

Or it can be collecting eggs from the wild, and hatching them in captivity, this is sometimes called CH (captive hatched) or Cb (captive born as opposed to CB captive bred) but these days most things seem to be described as CF.
