Certain regulations apply to various species though (like EPS legislation, article 10's for CITES I species etc.etc.). Like I say I know nothing about tort law though. It's illegal as a) almost certainly it will be a Testudo Graeca (a number of subspecies live in Turkey) of some kind & needs CITES papers b) Turkey is not in the EC.
Get customs to give him a 'going over' when he lands - we don't need this kind of thing. |

All it wil take is a call to customs at the airport, all my spurghs came from gatwick and heathrow, most were found in luggage some were found in pockets, VERY VERY SAD!!

thing is, if he really wanted one to care for for the rest of his life they are only around 100-150 quid, depending on their age from a uk breeder. not really worth getting caught for is it, apart from the fact he is damaging wild numbers and seriously stressing whatever he intends smuggling
