Default free rangeing food catcher?

ok heres a random one going to start getting flies in the reptile shed in a few months and no matter what i try i cant seem to get them all so heres the idea... i want to try a natural method such as keeping an animal free ranging that would eat them. has anyone done this? the reptile shed is obviously very warm a few ideas were few mantids or even a orb web spider? i have also thought about keeping a chameleon and then letting it out ocassionly to catch the flies lol would this work?
any ideas welcome
thanks stu

Personally if i were to attempt this I would either choose a small gecko species that reproduces quickly and easily. House geckos (Hemidactylus frenatus) are perfect for this, and are frequent escapees in reptile shops and larger collections, where they thrive. One other option would be a larger gecko species like a tokay, they will eat large volumes of prey, and are nocturnal. Both would work well in my opinion.
One caution however is there is a possibility of these guys escaping, which isn't really desirable.
