Unhappy HR-669 The Non-Native Wildlife Invastion Prevention Act

Hi people,

I just thought i would bring this to your attention as this would effect more then just the US.

The US distributes a huge amount of reptiles worldwide yes the UK would be able to keep them but what about importing them?? Do we import much from the US ?

Also i wanted to know what you think they would do to the millions of animals that would be taken from there owners ??

They cant release them they cant re-home them ???

And also what can the people from outside the US do ?

A video from Viperkepper if you don't know what im talking about
YouTube - Danger! Danger! Danger!

EDIT!!
I dont think this post is in the right place please move it

FFS

A: there are several posts on this
B: this is the 3rd year they've proposed this bill, the other 2 times it been shot down whats so special this year. nothing people are just making a fuss. last year it was called HR6311 and was exactly the proposal same word for word
C: loads of anti exotics bills get proposed almost none get passed (example there is currently a proposed bill to put tighter controls on pythons in the US being proposed no one seems to be shouting about that one)

its just some americans have finally noticed that some people somtimes put forward anti exotics bills and have decided to blow it out of proportion. they generally just get thrown out unnoticed by the herp comminity the only thing this is difference and the only reason this bill is being taken seriously is that people are making a fuss.

im just sitting back and waiting for it to all blow over

If it's annoying you so much, don't become involved in the clearly titled thread. Bit of a no brainer really. No need to have a go at somebody because they have shown an interest in the proposed bill.

unfortunatly we do, they are way ahead of us, and lots of royals, corns and boas come from the US.

water under the bridge mate.

I should have looked at other posts before making a new one. I will make the normal excuse "It was late i was not thinking clearly"

Anyways with the other question about importing from the US do we really import that much most of my collection has come from private breeders in Suffolk i have one CB racer from ameyzoo but most come from Suffolk and i only deal in CB.

P.S. Ameyzoo comes highly recommended amazing shop and mark knows his stuff i will have to pay a visit again as i have my DWA now.

I have been thinking of getting a Bothriechis schlegelli for some time now. And i think he could point me to a good breeder.

Anyone breed them here at RFUK ?

I don't buy much from pet shop's i try to go to private breeders. I didn't think we would have impoted much from them. with the shipping cost ect i can't be the way forward the hobby in the uk cost enough as it is. i know we have a lot of high end balls in the uk don't we have any large breeders ?
