Hello All,
Haven’t posted here before but always viewing the forums as it usually keeps me entertained during work (Thanks by the way Anyway I would just like to make a post to inform everyone that may be interested or would just like to know that The Herpetological Society of Ireland has now launched. We launched on the 30th of May 2009 in National Botanic Gardens in Dublin, Ireland. We are a national society and cover the whole island of Ireland. We are accepting memberships worldwide and would welcome anyone that may be interested in becoming a member to do so. Our membership year runs from September to September. So what this means this year is you get 15 months for the price of one year’s membership. As a member you receive 4 full colour professional publications each quarter. So this year you would receive 5. As a member you also get to be involved in the society and take part in lectures, events, displays and many other events that will be organized. Some may argue but I’m not from Ireland I cannot take part in these events, this is true but you would still receive your publications via post and would still be considered as much a member as anyone else. If anyone is interested in joining the society please visit our website Herpetological Society of Ireland (HSI) - Society Now Launched. There is a PDF membership from that can be downloaded but please bear in mind the website is currently under construction and will be updated in the near future. We have a great team of individuals currently on the committee ranging from fully qualified scientists and herpetologists with years of knowledge that are willing to help anyone out. Our constitution is available for inspection by request should anyone want to view it. Please contact info@thehsi.org with any queries you might have. Membership queries should be directed to secretary@thehsi.org Many Thanks, Mark editor@thehsi.org |
