Default The cater-killer is now hear!

Its been recorded today that the Oak processionary moth caterpillers are here in Britain. The hairs on this bad boy are so toxic they can cause asthma, conjuntivitis, rashes and deadly allergic reactions!
They have been found near London and on the south coast but could move north with the warmer weather.
Only way to takle them is with a flame thrower and the whole area needs to be burned.
We are being invaded.

we have the brown moth catapiller which has toxic hairs, the area has to be burned as well to get rid of them.

Dont mean to be picky!!!!

but the article posted is dated 22 july 2007, so they have been here for just over 1 year.

Just thought id point that out.

It is crazy stuff though, bit OTT to bring in the flame throwers!

I used to live in Saudi Arabia and out there were catapillars that would make you very uncomfortable. As kids we would play in the bushes and often see them but we never worried about them, or attack them with flame-throwers, although the pakistani gardener would often dispose of them, usually bare handed!!!

It seems they arent the only nasty caterpillar in the uk though..........

And check out what happened to this dog after eating a Pine Processionary Caterpillar. Nasty!
