Default power back up when the mains goes out!

Hey guys, were I live I get power cuts everynow and then and sometimes for a few days even (nightmare I know!) I havn't had one in a while so I must be due a biggie! anyway I've been thinking about my beardie and how I'd be slighty stuck with no electric to power the lights ect.

I'm thinking I could get an inverter and hook a leasure battery to a solar panel , anyone done the same or have any ideas or ways they do it?

ups more expensive and only good for 25-70minutes depending on the ups like I said they can be for couple days at a time.

If a large UPS won't cut it, then it sounds like a mini generator is the only option !
They normally run on diesel though so will be a bit noisy if they're near the house....
