Default What is your opinion on London Zoo?

For those who have visited London Zoo:

What are your views on it? Good for Conservation? Working hard on education? Enclosure's getting better? Or is it not as good as it likes to make out?

What is your view on the Regent's Park zoo?

Any reviews would be very much appreciated, I'm looking for more critical opinions..

I'm trying to gather information for an assignment and would like to know what 'you' think, not what a journalist thinks or ZSL's own reviews.

Thank you very much for anything you can give me!

I have been to London Zoo but much prefer Colchester.

I found it surprising that the Meercat enclosure at London zoo when i went a couple of years back was bigger than the Giraffe enclosure.

I hate driving into London anyway but the lack of parking if you get there after 10am doesn't help either.

I just prefer Colchester all round.

I used to work retail and admissions seasonally (student! woopwoop) for London Zoo and I have to say until working there I'd never visited before. I think that because it's so well known people can build it up too much in their own minds before visiting. I think given the fact that it is an inner city zoo the animal collection is not bad, and some of it (the reps and the bug house) are exceptional! =)

I went about 6 or 7 years ago and thought it was quite antiquated. I know it was built a long time ago, but I thought a lot of the enclosures needed knocking down and rebuilding.

The aquarium was terrible. They did have gorillas at the time (Dunno if they still do) which were cool. Chester sets the standard in my opinion.

Glad you're having some luck. I can't even find any of their conservation strategies. :-/
