Default If i was to report a pet store...

Would anything actually get done about it?

My mum went to my local rep shop today and told me she none of the rep tanks with any lighting or heat. Which tops it off. I've decided i aint ever going to shop there and i'm going to get all my food online from now on.

When i bought my bearded dragon from there she was in a tank with a dead one that had obviously been sick for some weeks before hand. They feed their reptiles crickets that are bigger than their head and the water supplied is always filthy black.

I just wonder if the RSPCA would actually do anything if i reported them. Since nobody seems to really care anymore ¬_¬

I reported a pet shop near me, and as far I am aware, nothing ever came of it.

As from the 21st of Aug there are changes in the way animals can be kept someone correct me if im wrong but this includes petshops also so if they are breaking the new Habitats Regulations then isint there something that can be done? im sure if its ok for the RSPCA to expect general reptile keepers to conform to this act then they must also expect the petshops to do the same

Heres the link to it on DEFRA Defra, UK - Animal Health and Welfare - Animal Welfare - Animal Welfare Act

i reported a shop and the rspca went straight there. if you go on the rspca website they tell you things you need to know before you call them, such as address, time, date etc. if you have all the info phone them and they will go straight round, after they've been they'll call you back and let you know how it went.

the rspca are the biggest bunch of numptys in the world when we went away my brother in law stayed at ours to look after the animals and we got reported for leaving them unattended which i would never do to any living thing.
to cut a long story short the rspca inspector who came out didnt even know what a corn snake was or a beardie even had to ask if they should be kept/sold in prs as i had said yoda(beardie)was feeling in the mood and we was looking for a female for him???didnt have a clue on set ups etc,so i think that says it all really!!!
