Default costa rica adventure

well, i think i've decided. i was planning on a florida trip early next year but after pondering it for a while, i've decided that i would like to go back down to costa rica. i haven't been there in like 20 years. i think that this old man is still up to the challenge.
i'm going to save up some money this winter and go down this spring. it will be a hiking/camping/herping and wildlife trip. i'm planning on going to san jose and then to puerto jimenez by plane and have a hotel break before i set out for the pacific coast. i'll be roughing it as usual and need a tune up trip before i go. i'll be taking photos and catching things along the way. it's mostly virgin rainforest with a blend of north american and south american fauna. racoons and coatis side by side.
i'll be going around april, in between the wet/dry season on the pacific side. that's the coolest time. usually they have nice storms later in the day and warm sunny days. it will be warm and muggy as the osa is only around 8-9 degrees from the equator.
i'll be traveling on a shoestring budget as transportation costs and warm weather gear is is basicly all i'll need. i'll be intrested to see how things have changed over the years.
here's a map of the osa peninsula.

puerto jimenez has an airport so getting there from the capital is easy and cheap. i have to get my passport renewed and a tourist card at the airport in san jose. that's good for a month i believe. last time i went it was a great time, nothing went awry and all the locals are so nice. i'll have to brush up on my spanish it's really rusty. i'll take a video camera with me too and document everything. too bad i can't do any live laptop stuff. that's way over my head.
anyway, i just thought i'd share this with everybody so you all know of my plans. i plan on being there for about two weeks. it's not guyana, but it ain't bad. might even find some more boas laying around again!!

i went ther way back as they were just setting up corcavado park. i think i was the first eco-tourist there. they weren't sure how to let me go. all there was was some rangers and some scientists. they wanted to give me a horse and an m-1 carbine to carry!
i convinced them i was qualified. it was totally undeveloped. i caught a ride on a supply plane and landed on the grass airstrip of sirena station. yeah, there is a heaven! thanks hogboy!
