Default maggots in my box of crickets

EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously.

It's about time i started to shop online for live foods religiously.

were they definetly maggots? the boxes often contain dermestid beetle larve to clean up the mess and dead crickets. those are suposed to be there. if they were actuly maggots though that is seriously bad. you should take them back and complain.

will probably be beetle larve, as flys wouldnt lay eggs on anything crickets eat would they?

they weren't beetle larvae. I've seen those and they were in there too. They're hairy little caterpillar things, right?

These were tiny white and there were hundreds of them in some kind of a sticky dead clump of dead crickets and what looked like carcass rot or something.

I didn't take them back because the store would have closed by the time i got there... and you think i'd keep that box in my house until the next day?

Ew no. I tightly sealed the box in a bag and threw it in the bin.

or they coudl be fruit fly larve, had these alll in my bedroom, look liek maggots but they arent........

they still have no business being in a box of crickets.
You should let the shop know and see what they say...they prolly get them bought in by a wholesaler ratehr than breed thier own so its prolly no thier fault or anything they have done wrong themselves.
