Default Head and shoulders

No do not let the title mislead you, This is not about the shampoo, I just didn't know what else to call it lol

Well anyway, Does anybody know why our reptiles like to sit on our head and shoulders while they are out. My skink always heads for my shoulders as soon as i put my hand in her tank, Would just like to know why they do it?

when i was a monitor keeper, all sorts of monitors regarded "up" as being safest.
once you've had a 7 foot water monitor run up you and perch on your head it will seem obvious

probably something to do with your head being an excellent heat source too.

It's the best vantage point really, safest place that they can see what's going on.

I was also once told that iguanas do it to be dominant, the one sitting on the top is in charge - beardies sit on top each other as well so perhaps you could apply it to other lizards. Don't know how true it really is though but makes some sense.
