theres a bit of debate about it tbh..some say yes, some say no..

because theyre nocturnal theres no need for any light in their vivs at all, apart from natural light so they can determine whether its day/night

i saw a picture once of a ratsnake that was blind because it had UV light, but i wouldnt have thought this would happen after a few days, as its only temporary..

but you dont *need* a light, if you thought you did which is why you were using UV..

UV isn't really required at all, there is still grey areas over it. If you are using UV, make sure it is only a 2% UV. Anymore could lead to problems.

Snakes in general, will hide from UV.
