you don't need a license to sell animals privately but if your a business whether your on-line or not and you are selling them through your shop then you do (a pet shop license and public liability insurance).... But with Inverts you don't need a license either way but as was said it depends on which council you are under as they all differ slightly

thanks guys, I am looking to breed as a hobbie but i am also looking to set up an online shop just selling supplies - I don't think I would sell the pets online I might list what I have on there but the couldn't be purchased from there.

Like said though, if you have people buying from the same place you keep your pets, even if its your house, i think its technically classed as a shop and you will need a licence. Best people to contact are your local council as the rules vary so much accross the country.

my councils pet shop license doesnt automatically cover DWA, you have to have it added.
