Thumbs up Thanks to The Reptile Shop for helping me out.

On Saturday sometime, my collared lizard got out of his tank, i didnt notice untill Sunday Morning when i went to feed him. (he only eats in the morning.) He was not in tank,(not the 1st time he as got out.) Anyway i found him, cold but with a huge gash on his leg. Knew shops were shut on Sunday. But yesterday i rang around 3 shops and got told in no un-certain terms go to the vets. Now My Reptile vet is not available untill Thursdays and i really needed some advice on the leg. it was not bleeding, but i was still worried. So last resort was ringing up The Reptile House, (i have used them before for my food as i am out in sticks they are the closest to me any how.) Young man answered phone, and could tell i was worried and straight away told me to bring him in and they look at him for me.
I took my lizard in, explained what had happpened and what urgent treatment i gave my lizard. I gave him a warm salt bath on the leg and dried him off and put some Aloe vera Gel on leg ( prefectly safe to use on all animals.) to act as barrier.
They looked at his leg, checked that leg was not broken or sprained, then put some iodine (even tho leg was not infected.) on it, just to keep it clean till i got some myself from chemist.
The 2 Young men were kind and very reassuring towards me and the lizard.
I got the Impression from these People anyway, that they really care about their reptiles anyway. I do wish more were like it. But what hurt most of all was the shops that i rang, was the off hand way i was treated.
So may I please say thanks to The Reptile House for their help.
N.B.
I will be taking my C/Lizard to my Herpe Vets on Thursday just to make sure the leg is not becomming infected, in meantime i be using the iodine.

It's good to hear nice things about shops and great to hear they helped you out too. How did you get on at the vet's?

Yes i did thank you. While there i had him weighed and a general check over. He is fine weight wise. The leg is now healing up lovely, New skin now growing back. Vet said i and the people at the shop did all the right things.
I went into the shop yesterday for my food and the 1st thing was asked, was "How is the Collared Lizard.?" told them thanks for their help and he is now doing fine and will not be getting out of the tank again in a hurry. I am just relieved no infection got into the leg. Now have Iodine in my Reptile cabinet. (come in handy for us humans to. )
