I think Boipes pic here is the best flower shot on this thread so far.

That is until I took these today

The above modified using Lucis art plugin slightly.

Thank You Angi (I think)

You have posted many better flower shots than me - you get the light right so often - how do you meter?

The last ones are great - have you used that plugin-in on portraits? And did you get it before it went to $600!?

Scott Kelby's site shows it to good effect and gives a few galleries with portraits on the blog if you haven't seen them.

Just a couple of flowers I found in the garden!

This one is a neighbours, I don't think she would've minded me sneaking into her garden to get a piccy of it

Thanks. I do not have a seperate meter reader, I just use my in camera one, I press the button down lightly and it tells me how much light there is, I alter my shutter speed accordingly as I usually plan for specific apertures in my shots. I think some of it is just practice - I practice virtually everyday on something or other. I also take several similar shots anyway, slightly altering angles, light, shutter speed etc.
I only got the plugin yesterday, and this was my first attempt at using it. I will go and check out that site now.

whilst out for a drive locally we spotted a derelict piece of land overgrown with some magnificent poppies, so I nipped out of the car and took a few shots, then picked a few poppies to take home. Heres the first of numerous - yet to sort out.
