Default Back to Black photography thread

My favorite style of photography is monochromatic. I adore B+W shots. I have visions of this thread growing into a black and white picture fest, please oblige and post your best B+W shots!

I'll go first. Please name your camera kit and why you like the picture you are posting.

Nikon D40, 18-55mm nikkor lens

Slightly underexposed, but I thought the silhouette was a bold statement and well composed.

i have thousands!! spent 3 years of my life in a darkroom!! but noneare scanne din, and i dont have a scanner¬!!! damm

This was taken on my old pentax, stopped down to about F 7 taken a few years ago though so can not remember the lens make etc.

Glen Etive at the new year. "The lone tree" I just love the solitude of the focal point in this shot, despite the hills which cradle the subject. It's paradoxical in a way...
