The first one is looking quite good.
I use a variety of Fstops depending on how much of the photograph I want in focus, whether I want to isolate a subject or if I want lots of detail in the whole pic. I also use a variety of different ISO settings aswell - it often depends on light levels for me. I tend to decided how I want to subject to appear, set my aperture first then set the rest depending on whether it is light, dark, a moving subject etc. For this one I used a highish F number as I wanted to capture details so chose F22, 1/15", ISO 200. You will notice that you can see details in the whole photograph. ![]() Yet in the pics below I chose lower F numbers to isolate the subject and make it stand out from the background. This one is F3.5, 1/200", iso 200 ![]() Hope this helps a bit. Mind you Scott is the expert on macro photography around here.
