I think she is talking about AF mode. I believe most macro photographers use Manual Focus anyway so it shouldn't be a problem.

pastelgirl that's one of the reasons I decided against the D40 - sure, manual focus is normally preferable for macro, but I do like to have the option of autofocus especially when using a lens for portraits and the like.

bin the nikon idear..canon rules..get the 450d or 400d.

u dont want to use auto focus any way..your better of using manula focus 100% of the time..if u mess up u know its u then and not the camara.put every thing on manula and have lots of fun

i sold mine for about that much..who knows..u might have my old lens, but yer i have a sigma 50mm and 105mm macro lens..there both very good lens.very cheape and they keep up with nikon and canon.
