I was pleased with those too. Just trying to suss the camera and lenses.
I have Fox macro lenses and I must be doing something wrong as on manual setting (well any setting) they make it worse to focus. All I want is good close ups with a blurry background!

those pics u posted it would be very very hard to get background unfocused..when u asked about it i thought u ment shooting a flower and wanting the background blured..for shots like u posted page before i very much doubt u can get the background out of focus.

no I am trying to get really good close ups of my snakes (the other pics were me playing) just having a prob getting close up with macro lenses-obviously doing something wrong

Some lovely scenery shots there.

If you look back in this section there is a post explaining apertures and f stop numbers which might help you. I might ask Tbo if he can make it a sticky topic.
