Default Woohoo I got a Macro Lens!

Yay I got a Macro lens for my Birthday off my Fiance (Love you! I know you've been spying in this section of the forum for help with my present )

Anyway, it's the Canon 60mm Lens.. Any help appreciated as I'm just pointing and shooting at the mo, still not got to grips with the camera settings tbh!

Hi,

Tip 1: Use a tripod (large or minature).
Tip 2: Have patience
Tip 3: Get the lighting right, this is the most important ingredient in a good image.

The pic in the link below won first prize in an internal comp!

dont use a tripod..there clumsy and insects dont wait around for u to set them up../i have 2.500 pics in my gallery every one was taken with out a tripod.your find 90% of the macro photographers on canon forum dont use them..if your shoot stuff like flowers u could use one..even then i dont..if u use shutter speed 200 u dont need one.and most use f/8-f/11.have fun..

dont get me wrong tripods have there uses..but im just saying u dont need them to get the best shots..just takes pratice..

set it to M...then get your camara book..set shutter speed to 200 (200 is highest it will go with the sync flash)the higher u are the faster the shutter will fire so u can get sharp shots with out a tripod.)

iso 100

and use apputure 11.(f/11)

Congrats on the new lens!

To change the aperture its generally a combination of a button which must be held down as you turn the dial that is used to change the shutter speed.

On a Canon (on 'M' setting) to change the shutter speed, just turn the dial behind the shutter button.
To change the aperture, hold down the button that says "Av" next to it and has a picture of a little black and white square split diagonally in half with '-' and '+' on it.
