Yeah, its not always easy when they are moving around to keep the focus in the spot you want it. I'm sure you will improve the more you practice with your macro - god knows what I'm going to be like when mine arrives ( maybe next week now). I like the angles you were going for, but I agree on altering the f stop a wee bit next time, even if only to 5.6

nod, i think they were ok for a fast snake, taken quickly, no special lighting, anddddd first time using the lens!! graham is back from uni next week, so it'll be all mine!! lol

i use f/8 or f/11 100% of the time.make sure your using shutter speed 200..its the fastest it will go with the flash sync..this is why i get such sharp shots with no tripod..shutter speed 200

kk, have no idea what the ISO was, as i literally picked up the camera and went click click. Ill have a better go next week, and ill keep you posted
