It means that the salmon carries the albion gene and when bred together you have a chance of getting albions, salmons poss het albino, sunglows and normals poss het albino.

oh so is the outcome:
25% albinos
25% salmons poss het albinos
25% sunglows
25% normals poss het albinos

???

A boa that is Salmon poss double het for sunglow has a salmon mutant gene paired with a normal gene (AKA het salmon). It also has either an albino mutant gene paired with a normal gene or two normal genes instead. You'd have to contact the seller to get the actual probability that the snake is het albino.

If you lucked out and got two boas that were salmon and heterozygous albino you'd get 3/16 sunglows (salmon albino) and the rest would be an assortment of salmons, albinos, and normals.

If one or both of the salmons had a pair of normal genes instead of being het albino, then there would be no sunglow babies. They would be an assortment of salmons and normal-looking babies.

In my opinion, the better choice is to breed one of these snakes to either an albino or a het albino

Ok,
so what would the probable outcome be if bred with an albino or a het albino?

Right just dug out the parent chart.

DH sunglow x DH sunglow=
6.25% super salmon
12.5% salmon
6.25% normal
12.5% sunglows
6.25% albino
12.5% super salmon het albion
25% salmon het albion
12.5% het albino

DH sunglow x Het albino

12.5% albino
12.5% sunglow
37.5% normal 66% het albino
37.5% salmon 66% het albino

DH sunglow x Albion

25% normal 100% het albino
25% albino
25% DH sunglow
25% sunglow

You would be better off buying a 100% DH sunglow if you can. Hope this helps

yes DH means double het which basically means the it carries both mutant genes i.e. salmon het albino is also called double het for sunglow. If you look at one of the stcky threads at the top it gives a simple way to learn genetics by useing a box.

Hmm. This list leaves out the 6.25% super salmon albino (AKA sunglow).

Het is short for heterozygous. Heterozygous means that a gene pair contains two genes that are not the same. For example, a gene pair containing a normal gene and an albino mutant gene. Or a salmon mutant gene and a normal gene. There are two gene pairs here, and both pairs are heterozygous. So the boa with these two gene pairs is a double het.
