het genes are recessive and only show up if there's two of that gene, if there's only one the trait won't be noticable however the snake will be carrying that gene (hidden) You can bring it out if you mated it with another snake which had the same het gene.
So you would basically just have something that looks like a Amelanistic, (and it will be a gene carrier of the het mentioned)

Although I'm only a noob on this, I'm sure most people can offer a better explanation

An Amel het Sulfur might have the following two traits, but they are not guaranteed:

Het caramel animals sometimes show more yellow in the colouration.
Het bloodred animals may show an odd head pattern or a "zipper" of white down the middle of their belly scales.

However, you could have a completely normal-looking Amel who, if it had a Sulfur parent, is guaranteed het for Caramel and Bloodred.

"het genes" however are NOT necessarily recessive - you can be het for a dominant gene too (and in fact, an amel het sulfur is het for the "normal-not-bloodred" and "normal-not-caramel" genes, which are dominant to their counterparts).
