Default Mite sound like a daft question.....

i just been looking on this site

:: Ians Vivarium - Corn Snake Colour and Pattern Morphs ::

as far as i can tell no doubt wrong hence posting up ( mite look stupid but don't care )

if i breed my

aa= amelanistic Male
&
chc= charcoal
Female

i will get

Blizzard (aaaachcchc)
A combination of Amelanistic and Charcoal
Similar in appearance to the Snow, but without the yellow. Usually the pattern in Blizzards is extremely light, resulting in an almost completely white snake.

is this right or am i just totally wrong

if wrong what would u think i would get outta the 2 ?

Pictures of my Corn's are here if that help's

my corn's

Nope sorry
You get a clutch of classics het for amel and het for charcoal.
Breeding those classics together would give you a 1 in 16 chance of a Blizzard

What threw you off track is that genes have to be considered in pairs. If I had a USA dollar for everyone who makes that same mistake, I could retire and buy the Jersey Wildlife Trust out of petty cash.

For your amelanistic x charcoal breeding,
amelanistic = a^a//a^a ch^+//ch^+
charcoal = a^+//a^+ ch^c//ch^c
(The character to the right of the ^ character is a superscript. These forum editors will not do real superscripts. // serves to separate the two genes in a pair to make it more readable. Putting a + character in the symbol makes it the symbol for the wild type or normal gene.)

Each baby gets one gene from each of the mother's gene pairs and one gene from each of the father's gene pairs. So all the babies from this mating are a^+//a^a ch^+//ch^c and look normal.

To be a blizzard, a^a//a^a ch^c//ch^c, the baby would have to get an a^a gene from each parent and a ch^c gene from each parent.
