Another question would be "why are you wanting to do it?"
If it's to selectively breed for colour then you want to get them as distantly related as possible (cousins or less) to avoid some of the characteristic "traits" that many selectively-bred lines of many species exhibit.
If it's to prove out a potentially recessive / co-dom mutation then you do it once, then outcross for many generations.
If it's because you're lazy / cheap and want to use existing, related stock to make money then you don't. Doing that will only contribute to the many problems that captive reptile breeding may face in the next decade or so.
