1. Absolutely no way to tell without breeding him to a KNOWN mack or super snow. If you get super snow offspring out, he's a Mack. If you don't, he probably isn't.

2. Lem looks like a 'pretty normal' to me. Yes, he's got enhanced yellow colouration.

3. Dark normals can be caused by low INCUBATION temperatures too (same as "chocolate" albinos). It can also just be how they develop with age.

thank you. he is now commign up to a year, so soon he can breed.
i do have a female mack, so he can breed with her. if he isnt a mack... but she is will i get macks still, beavcuse of her, or isnt it dominant? ...
hope that makes sense.

2. Lem looks like a 'pretty normal' to me. Yes, he's got enhanced yellow colouration.

ok thank you!! i dont mind what she is, btu i was hoping she coudl turn out liek her mum... maybe not :P

If your "maybe-mack" male isn't a mack, you would still expect to get some Mack snows because your female is a Mack; the only reason you won't get Mack Super Snows is because the gene is not dominant, it's codominant. Takes two copies (one from each parent) to get the Super Snow patterning, only takes one copy from one parent to get the Mack Snow pattern and colour.

Interesting that the two darker normals have bigger, spikier scales... that makes me think it might be a genetic thing and quite possibly a 'throwback' to one of the wild subspecies of leopard gecko that make up the "domestic" leos.

That wouldn't actually prove it's a Mack Snow.

You could have a Gem snow or TUG Snow that would do the same thing (produce snows).

Or you could wind up with some low-yellow offspring who superficially look like Macks but will not produce the super form when combined with another Mack Snow - the only genuine test is "does it make super snows when bred to a known Snow"

Not in the short term - but over several pairings, if you didn't get one out of say, fifty hatchlings, you probably don't have a mack Snow.

Ideally you'd put him to several super snows; the chances of not getting a super in one year of reasonable clutches if he's a mack are minimal.
