Default Motley/Stripe in Corns --What's the genetic basis

Just interested to know in a motley/stripe how could the motley gene express itself as a partial stripe?

Are there two alleles of the Motley gene, one showing a complete Motley pattern the other showing as partially striped?

Thanks.

It's a case of selective breeding like candycanes & reverse okeetees are amels so you can also have perfectly spotted motleys & others with 'zipper'/'q-tip'/'elongated' patterns without ever having anything to do with the stripe gene. Hope this makes sense.......

So if an elongated pattern motley is selectively bred for its perfectly possible that they can just 'pop up' in clutch from 'normal' motley parents???

Yep, you can get a wide variety of motley patterns in the one clutch....
