Default Hypo?

Could someone explain to me what Hypo is in cornsnakes? how would i visually know if a snake is Hypo? What if then Hypo bred with a Stripe or Motley, what would the offspring be?
Example:
Hypo Carolina to Amel Stripe

Thanks

Hypo is short for hypomelanistic, meaning 'less black' - pics here

It's a heritable recessive trait so in your example would have no visual impact on the offspring. Unless either parent carries hets not mentioned, your pairing would give 100% normal offspring, all het for amel, stripe and hypo.

Thanks,

How about an Anery Stripe bred to Hypo Carolina, i assume offspring again all Normal het Anery, Stripe & Hypo.
What would i get if the offspring were bred together?

Sorry but new to the Corn Morph shannanigans

as above, you'll see alot of hypo snakes around, miami x hypo=hypo miami(crimson), anery x hypo=hypo anery(ghost), caramel x hypo=hypo caramel(amber)

there is also a hypo effect on motleys and stripes, with those being lighter than the non motley/stripe types

you're right on the offspring..... as for *their* offspring,..... three lots of hets means a lot of possibilites, so very low percentages of each outcome... but it boils down to ----

about half will be normal-het-for-something (i.e. one or more hets, impossible to tell which unless you breed them to a visual example of each possible het)

along with some anery, some hypomel, some ghost and some normal stripes, again possibly het for the traits they're not showing

even lower chances of anery stripe or amel stripe, and about a 1% chance of a ghost stripe.....
