Default Jungle/Stripe/Reverse stripe Leos

Hi

Just wondering if anyone knows for certain how the jungle genes work in Leos. First 2 females I got couple of years ago were 'het jungle'. Now wondering if that is poss?

I have read that jungle is recessive, and also that its more line-bred. I read that stripes are a variation of jungle, and also that they may be simple recessive... and then that reverse stripe and stripe sort of 'contribute' to the Tremper patternless found in R/APTORs.

Surely if stripes were line bred, you would have more variations between the extremes, not just stripe, reverse stripe and patternless (i mean if you look at a reverse stripe, even a partial one, it has clearly defined straight edges, like it is not so much a polygenicthing)??

Hope that made sense, i know what i'm trying to say honest!

Any opinions more than welcome!!

The problem is that there are several things that can cause "jungle like" markings - and they're not all simple.

1. Some incubation conditions can cause jungle-like hatchlings. I have several hatchlings who came out with aberrant markings - including a couple of jungles (Nienna has one of these) ... but I am 95% certain it's due to incubation and not genetics.

2. Some "Jungle" does appear to be a simple recessive.

3. Reverse stripe is, far as I can tell, recessive; "Patternless Reverse Stripe" is a selectively bred variant of Reverse Stripe that removes the stripes, partially or completely.

Cheers for replying,
So can you get either line bred reverse/stripes or genetic? some jungle type stripes are very 'vague' if you get what I mean.

If a stripe is crossed with a reverse stripe do you potentially get the patternless seen in the Raptor??

Also I thought that ruby eyes were something that was 'unlocked' by the patternless gene. Yet I have a red eyed reverse-stripe (with very good red stripes also). I would have thought she would have to be patternless for the ruby eyes...

Sorry, get most the genetics but this has me stumped...!
