Smile My first viv build!

Hi, i'm new here and have just finished building my first (proper) vivarium...
Thought i'd share some photos - let me know what you think!

It's for my 18 month old Caramel corn snake, Loki...
To show what we're going from, here's some pictures of the old setup...

Two Storage Boxes connected by a pipe...

The smaller side

The larger side... (and occupant!)

And now for the *NEW* one...
Before decorating

The back is made from a sheet of perspex, so the backing can be changed easily be removing a panel board from the back in sliding it in. The floor is also raised using polystyrene meaning that you can see everything on the floor at the front of the tank and allowing the heat mat cables to lie in channels so the floor sits totally flat. the "shelves at the side are removable and just slot in and out.

In the top right hand side of the viv is a high-hide box, accessible from the outside. Here it is closed...

and again with both doors open... behind the lower door is a window, meaning that you can either open one door just to look in or both doors to get access.

Here's how the hide box is accessed...

So here it is in it's full glory...

So there we are... it's got a timer controlled "day" light - a repti-glo 2.0 and a manual night light - one of the exoterra blue bulbs, just so i can watch him at night sometimes.

Thoughts?
Will.

Wow, that looks amazing!, might have to steal a few of your ideas for our next viv build. I like the idea of the built in hide in the roof of the viv, my BRB and JCP would probably like that when they get bigger.

it shouldn't be too bad... the shelf-platform things just unhook and slide out so everywhere's accessible for cleaning. i tried to make it so that there isn't anywhere that you can't get proper access to.

Loki is one very lucky snake The viv has been well thought about and looks great. Also liked the idea of linking the two storage boxes together too. Big well done bet Loki loves the new palace.
