Well, I've told a couple of people about what we've been doing off the forum, but yesterday was the first real start of our snake room.
The theory is this;
2 racks, each with 6 shelves. Each shelf with 4x 50l rubs. So a potential of 48 rubs.
The top 2 shelves will be for storage of things like spare water bowls, stats, hooks, news paper etc. Leaving room for 40 rubs.
Each shelf would have its own heat mat, and stat. along with a digital temp gague, so in theory, we should have every shelf at exactly the same temp.
A few shelves would be used for other things, like 9l rubs with hatchlings in etc.
The plan is to house all our breeding royals (except a select few faves who would still be in vivs), along with the yearling boas, corns, rat snakes, house snakes etc.
So, last night we finished stripping out as much as we could with out power tools (one of the old racking units is bolted to the wall and will need to be taken off asap.) and built up rack number 1.
This is the rack designed to house all the royal morphs

All the heat mats are on the order, along with the stats, so should be ready to go by the end of the week.
Tonights job; Get the soldering iron on the rubs for air holes, and line with newspaper
Finally, it's getting somewhere. Here is a pic of rack 1 in place
