Here we go its about time i posted some pics of my new corner Viv thats going to be home to a beady very soon. hope you like it and would welcome any suggestions. ~

stage 1 : basic shape made ( center beam there for gluing support)


stage 2: Front pieces fixed in



stage 3: Legs are on and given it 2 coats of beach varnish then 3 coats of diamond hard chemical, heat and scratch resistant varnish


stage 4: Glass test. Has some space plywood around and wanted to test out the glass runners and size before I spent loads on glass (may allso keep the wood so i can put it in if i have a late night party or something so wont effect little beadys bed time light)


stage 5: moved it into its location behind the 2 seat sofa and fitted the tiles allso all lighting fixtures and temp sensors were fitted.


stage 6: lighting and heat test. Bulbs arived and have tested temps Hot Side 95F and cool side 85F may. Exo Terra Sunglow basking lamp 100w and a Repti glo 10.0 compact in there and allso a nightglow bulb that I have turned off as it was getting a little too hot



stage 7: hopefull the glass will arive in the next day or two will get some photos added

stage 8: Bearded Dragon arives once im happy that everything is perfect

A viv build for your first reptile. That is dedication! Lovely looking build too. Well done! Where did you put your ventilation holes and holes for stats? I'm probably being blonde and am not looking close enough!

The only thing I will say is to make sure your varnish as completely cured and is not giving off any nasty fumes under heating.

My Reptiles
a chinese water dragon called 'splash'
and a Bearded Dragon called 'Noah'

thers 6 sausage shaped vents on the top round the lamp fitures and a large one at the back can just about see them on the first 5 images

had 5 days to set and another 2 days with all the lights on too and theres no sign of any fumes

from corner to corner of the window its 4.7ft and its 2.6ft deep with 1.5ft high odd size i know . But I work in milimeters usually but seen so meny post here in ft thought it best if I post my measurements in ft too.

I really struggle with anything other than feet and inches!

That's gonna be one lucky beardie...i'm just slightly jealous!

the viv aproxamatly £120 inc all the light fixings (got the wood very cheeply from work)
