Reasons why people say calci-sand is bad due to these reasons-

The producers of calci-sand have put calcium carbonate inside which enduces the gecko to eat it even more so than your standard silver sand/play sand.

The fact that when calci-sand is wet it clumps together just like cat litter unlike silver/play sand it doesn't pass through their system as well.

So all in all you say you have listened to "reptile shops" which are reputuble even though they are trying to sell you a product and make some money.

But if you want the death of your gecko on your hands due to inpactation then pity you honestly a responsible keeper would take heed to the warnings and notices that people have said about the complications that calci-sand can cause on the other hand playsand is a different story.

But what do I know I'm only a leopard gecko breeder and keeper with 20 years behind me.
