Default bookcase to viv stack

This is what I've been up to this morning - following another great idea on here I ordered this bookcase with 2 drawers from Argos £49.99 + delivery... easy to put together too!!

I've ordered almost everything else I need now I think - door runners, vents, door handles, bulb guards (to be ordered), porcelain battenholders, stats, mats, bulbs.... seemingly endless list!! The shelf standing beside the bookcase I want to cut into 3 strips to make sills so bedding etc doesn't fall out as soon as the doors are opened.

I'm hoping to make 3 vivs out of it - a large one at the top for my 07 corn, a smaller one for my hognose, and another.....

The drawers will hold the stats and other stuff to try and keep it nice & tidy specially as it's going to stand in the lounge

I hope it all goes well. Just watch out I have a book case very similar to that and when I put my books on it the shelves bent rather a lot. It would be sad if one day the sky literally fell down on one rep's world and the bottom fell out of another's.

Yep - I tend to do things 'belt & braces' style - got blocks to fix and support shelves too, and will screw everything in place, not just seal it

don't think you'll have enough length on the sensors to reach the top vivs if you keep the stats in the drawers. You will if you move the drawers up though.

Since you said that I've been a-wonderin myself!!

So this morning when my new twin stat and single stat turned up in the post I've been in there measuring and holding up wires and plugs and I think it should just work - the top viv is for the corn and so the sensor will be at ground level (well shelf level more or less) where the heatmat will be, using this and digi in/out thermometers I should be able to control the temps ok

I can't move the drawers up - well I probably could but that bottom shelf is coming out so there are just the two drawers at the bottom, then 1 largish viv, a shallow one in the middle and another good one on the top.

Have just sourced the perspex I want instead of glass so once the runners are in I'll get a final measurement and get all the doors ordered
