i am at the polystyrene builing stage of my new water dragon viv. Once i have done the polystyrene sculpting is it just tile grout that i need to put over it? i bought a heavy duty floor grout in brown ( figured it may save time on painting) and it says its waterproof. Do i still need to varnish it or will it be ok? and is it necesary to have it covered in sand or just personal preference?

i personally think that the grout is fine, but everywhere i have read has said that you should put a sealant coat of some sort over it, i.e. a spray of watered down pva non toxic glue.

this is what i plan on doing sometime soon.

yeah ive seen few post on this.currently saving up all the polystyrene blocks from whatever the family buy lol.i think a coat in epoxy resin(i think) shall waterproof it
