Exclamation New Viv

Well i had my 1st wooden viv delivered yesterday (sooo chuft) so i got to work fixing it together being patient as i wanted it spot on.

I used a spirit level and right angle to make sure that it was fitted correctly, it looked fab all the way until i set about putting the glass in.

DOH!!! It doesnt fit........ the only way the glass fits in is if the lid of the viv is not on tight?? Ive measured all the peices and they are the correct size - i cant think why the glass wont fit in???

Can anyone PLEASE help with this as im so frsutrated with this viv. i have emailed the seller for further guidance but they seem to never respond to my emails.

Hopefully someone will have a solution.

If it comes down to it i may just have to get the glass altered slightly - but i really dont wana do that after paying for a 'nice and easy flat pack viv'

Cheers

It may sound silly, but do you have the runners in the correct location (the top one on the top and the bottom on the bottom)?

Does the glass fit & sit OK if the Viv is upside down as one runner should have a deeper groove than the other?

Is the glass to big?
If so get onto who ever made it and ask for either new glass or a refund.

Its very hard to take 1mm or so off glass, and if its toughened glass you wont be able to trim it down.

thanks,

im still waiting or a response from the seller.........

there literally is only 1mm in the difference aswell. i might just adjust some of the fittings on the viv and completely start from scratch.

i dont think i'll be leaving postive feedback for them anway

Just an idea, but you could fit something between the sides of the viv and the top section when you screw it together, just to lift it up slightly higher, say a thin strip of wood or rubber, or anything that will make a nice tight seal. Then when you screw it together it should lift up leaving enough room for the glass. Bit of a bodge but might help you out and if it is only 1mm difference you prob wont even see it.

I'd still try and get compensation of some sort tho.

Good luck!
