Any help/advice/carpenters who could help with an Under Stairs Viv for three iguanas?
Hi All,
We're moving to a new house in Cornwall soon and I need to get a viv built to be one frame, split into two with a glass patrition to house three iguanas.
I've had a quote from a local carpenter for between £900-£1200 depending on what wood's used, and single or double glazing.
I've read on here today that using cedar is a no-no, and poss also pine too. Does anyone know of any other woods I need to make sure I steer clear of please?
He's suggested using a soft-wood for the frame which can be stained as I want a dark finish and marine ply for the top, bottom, back and right end.
If you imagine the triangle of under stairs, the left end is the highest point, I want this end to be glass, framed. Then the front will have two seperate glass framed doors which open outwards. The partition 'wall' between the two vivs, is also framed glass so you can see right through.
Does anyone have any previous experience they could share please?
I've always used cupboards which I've converted for mine, this'll be the first time I've tackled a custom made project and I really want to do my beautiful babies justice, and keep them safe!
Any help/advice appreciated, thank you!!!
Emma.
