Default rock advice for my viv

sorry for more noobish questions, but again i just wanted to make sure i'm going to be getting it right.

i want to have some rocks in my viv for basking, chilling etc. Is it ok for me to grab some nice rocks from the river at the end of my road and use those?

obviously before going anywhere near the viv i would rinse them, disinfect them with bleach and then rinse them again.

would this be ok?
